Lean management consulting

Efficient and lean processes as well as the ability to react quickly and flexibly to changing customer requirements are crucial for the competitiveness of your company. With Lean Management you can create the framework conditions for this. The lean idea helps you optimize company processes, minimize waste and increase the quality of your products. Your customers appreciate this. In addition, the lean approach supports the process of continuous improvement (CIP) in the company, as your employees learn to question what seems self-evident and unchangeable and to learn from mistakes.

The advantages of lean management are therefore clear. But it is not enough to apply a specific Lean method like a recipe. Sustainable lean management is based on a way of thinking and acting that, as a holistic corporate philosophy, brings together the entire spectrum of the many pragmatic individual methods to achieve company goals and reinforces its effect by focusing on achieving customer wishes. Our lean management consulting helps you tap into these synergies

Lean management approach

Lean management is the approach to increasing the added value of products and services and avoiding waste. To do this, all processes and procedures in the company are examined in order to optimize the value stream for the benefit of the customer. The aim is to reduce all processes to the activities that increase the value of a product or service for the customer in order to be able to offer them a fair price-performance ratio.

In many companies, however, employees' everyday lives largely consist of activities that do not add value or even cause additional costs. The cause is often inefficient processes due to cumbersome working methods, unnecessary interfaces, waiting times or untimely communication. In lean management, the waste of resources and working time is specifically minimized through better coordination of the individual steps and a process of continuous improvement.

Lean management goes back to the Toyota Production System (TPS), which was developed at Toyota for series production more than 50 years ago. The mental approach, the philosophy behind it as a necessary core element, has since been supplemented at Toyota with the associated methods and tools. With increasingly refined and optimized instruments, TPS is now considered a global benchmark for highly efficient production - regardless of the industry. Although Lean Management originally came from Automotive industry The principles can be implemented everywhere - even in the service sector.

How does lean management consulting work?

Lean management serves to increase the share of value creation by avoiding unnecessary waste and reducing necessary waste; This is easier and cheaper than refining a product through further stages of the value chain. And waste exists in every industry, in every company, in every function. How to reduce waste varies from case to case. This is where the advice comes in.

The principle of lean management can be implemented everywhere. Not only large companies benefit from this approach, but also small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in particular. These often even have a decisive advantage when implemented: the decision-making processes in SMEs are shorter and the structures and employees are often more flexible. Lean management measures achieve the first visible successes much more quickly, which promotes the company's understanding of the topic and the willingness to actually implement it.

The lean philosophy is a valuable approach, especially in production. In lean production, the main focus is on process optimization. By thoroughly analyzing the current situation, bottlenecks and weak points can be identified at workplaces, in system configurations, in material flow or in order control. All processes along the value chain are viewed from a broad perspective. Evaluating the current situation usually provides approaches for improvements.

But the lean idea can also be successfully implemented in non-manufacturing, supporting areas of the company. The hallmarks of a value stream-oriented organization are flexible processes with the shortest possible lead times and defined interfaces. This leads to more reliability and thus greater adherence to delivery dates for customers.
